JACQUES MARX

FOUNDER & CEO

Jacques is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Entruevest Holdings and is responsible for setting the company’s strategy and leading its resource and capital allocation activities. He has a passion for Mergers and Acquisitions and is dedicated to assist hard-working entrepreneurs with their transition out of business ownership. With more than 15 years M&A experience, Jacques has had the privilege of being part of an executive management team which has facilitated the acquisition or divesture of more than 30 businesses across 10 different industries with an aggregate deal value in excess of R360m.

Prior to founding Entruevest, Jacques was the Group Chief Financial Officer for iMvula Empowerment Holdings, a diversified investment holding company which facilitates and promotes Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment. Having joined the company during April 2007, Jacques was appointed to the board alongside founder and Group CEO during June 2012 where he gained a rich mix of experience in finance, operations and internal/external processes as well as board participation within each of the portfolio companies.

He was responsible for the strategic management of capital and transactions including acquisitions, leveraged transactions & disposals as well as debt structuring, -refinancing and -capital raising for the group. Jacques also assisted executive management with collective strategic and operational support to each portfolio company whilst helping with executive integration plans to maximize synergies and financial benefits from acquisitions.

Jacques received Bachelor of Commerce (Honours – Accounting) from The University of Johannesburg and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA/SA) with Ernst & Young in 2005, before spending a year overseas with EY in the United Kingdom.
